8月3日は、1年になりまっした。

A year ago was pretty much the beginning of a new life for us. Life has been completely different, and so much better, since that fateful day.

Life is wonderful.
この人世は素晴らしいですね。

I just had the worst piece of tenpura I've ever had. It was badly burned and lacked flavor of any kind, except perhaps the flavor of burning.

In America, we'd tell the chef or waitor, perhaps get a refund, think little of the whole affair, and be on our way. However, the Japanese tend to be very touchy about negative criticism, so...I wonder what will become of the fact that I left a negative comment in the restaurant's comment box. I've seen a lot of companies not really do anything to address negative comments, but simply melt down because of them. I hope it doesn't come to that, but at the same time, dang, that was some awful, horrible tenpura, uncharacteristic of this particular joint. I had to say something, because if it happens twice, that's on me, and everyone loses twice.

"War is hell." Tomorrow, HBO's The Pacific will arrive in Japanese video stores (GEO, Yamada Denki, etc.).


僕は、これを全部見た。とても面白かったです。でも、悲しいです。 「戦争は地獄です」 から。
I have seen all of it. It's very interesting, but also sad because, "war is hell."

泣きました。
I cried.

Those boys went through hell -- both Japan and America.
みんなには、 太平洋戦争は地獄でした. 日本にもアメリカにも。

人種差別無しで、見て下さい。戦争で、みんなは悪いです。 -_-
So go watch it, and don't be a racist about it. Every side is guilty of some serious crap in war.

Today, riding my bike around town, I saw lots of kids in school uniforms. Yep, that must mean vacation is over. In English, we call this "back to school" time. (新学期)

Recently, we watched the Oscars, also called the "Academy Awards."


One movie we saw last year, one movie we saw on an airplane, and one movie we saw recently were nominated for "Best Picture."
We watched Inception last summer, at the Saty.



We watched 127 Hours here in Japan, at home.



We watched Winter's Bone on an airplane from America to Japan.



But the Oscar for "Best Picture" went to...


The King's Speech.
I have never seen it. I would like to watch it some day.

昨日、ジャネルと映画を見ました。
Yesterday, I watched a movie with Janelle.

タイトルは127アワーズです。 (127時間)
It's called "127 Hours."


(It's directed by Danny Boyle. James Franco plays Aaron Ralston, and it's a true story.)
(ダニー・ボイル監督、脚本、製作による2010年の映画作品である。登山家のアーロン・ラルストンの自伝『奇跡の6日間』（Between a Rock and a Hard Place）を原作としており、ジェームズ・フランコがラルストンを演じる。)

For grownups, it was very exciting, but children probably won't understand.
大人には、とても面白かったです、でも、たぶん、子供達がこの映画わからん。

I have very dangerous asthma.

Right now, I also have bronchitis.

高校載とき、私はSubwayで働ていました。1年間 しました。
In high school, I worked at Subway for 1 year.

Subwayは東京、大坂、京都、広島 にある、 でもこれは、四国の最初のです。
Subway is in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima, but this is Shikoku's FIRST one!
