日曜日は、今月の EIS イベントがありました。
(EIS = English Immersion Series)
In this event, we learned about nature.
Remember our key phrase, kids, "Seeds become plants!"
キーワード大切です。
英語の「(A) becomes (B)」は、 日本語で 「(A) は (B) になります」 と言う。
たとえば、子供は大人になります。英語: "Kids become adults."
We learned new vocabulary! There were so many! Do you remember these ones?
(ヒント: che...che...)

ディスガイア4 売上金寄付
The Japanese PS3 game "Disgaea 4" just got a new update for 100 yen. It's a new character, and all proceeds go to help the relief effort after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. I think that's great.

Today is the last day for 3-nen-sei at Sakaide Fuzoku Junior High School.
Today, they will graduate. It's sad, but also happy. In English, we call that "Bittersweet."
I am very proud of the students. They did their best.

12まで! 出来ますよ！
Eikaiwa kids can usually count to 10, but after that? They ususally forget 11 and 12.

Sabres making playoff push
The Buffalo Sabres are making a push for the 2011 NHL playoffs.
Today, they beat Minnesota in overtime! One step closer! Now, they are in 8th place. The top 8 teams make the playoffs. I hope they can hold on! Good luck, Buffalo!

With an adult class, we have been watching, The Place Promised in Our Early Days. (『雲のむこう、約束の場所』)
We watch in a mix of English and Japanese.
英語と日本語で見ます。
We started in January. Every week, we watch a little bit more.
１月にはじまりました。 毎週、もう少し見ます。
We [PAUSE] many times, and say "OK, what did he say?"
or "What is she doing?" and "What happened?" and "Okay, now, this is not in Japanese..." and things like that.
いつも面白い。生徒はこのレッスン大好き。
Other schools don't use this type of lesson. They can't.
ほかのスクールはこんなのレッスン出来ない。

OSCARS
Recently, we watched the Oscars, also called the "Academy Awards."
One movie we saw last year, one movie we saw on an airplane, and one movie we saw recently were nominated for "Best Picture."
We watched Inception last summer, at the Saty.
We watched 127 Hours here in Japan, at home.
We watched Winter's Bone on an airplane from America to Japan.
But the Oscar for "Best Picture" went to...
The King's Speech.
I have never seen it. I would like to watch it some day.
